The focus of Necromancer Brewing is resurrecting dead and near-dead beer recipes. They still produce common, well-known brews as well. As part of the experimental nature, some of the beers are well…duds (you never know what a several hundred year old recipe is intending to create). Others exceed expectations and as a result I am always excited for a new release. Necromancer also make a focus on supporting the LGBTQ community. While this is becoming more common in the area, it is really nice to see such vocal and prominent support. The space is typically darker with purple lighting. If purple is your color, this is absolutely your spot. The seats are primarily benches, which are not the most comfortable, but I’m not there long enough to notice. The bartenders are always kind; however, service can be slow during the week if busy as there is usually only one person on duty, which can be frustrating. Lastly, Necromancer has a lead female brewer, which is nice. Although female brewers are becoming more commonplace via the Pink Boots Society and other locations, it is nice to see so much unequivocal support (not to mention the delicious beer) for women in the brewing industry.
