The vanilla custard at Skoops is outstanding. It has a very full flavor, but is still so creamy and smooth. I have tasted some other custards as well and the texture is always consistent with a nice bold flavor and natural coloring. They do make hard ice cream as well, but I cannot veer away from the custard. They have wonderful creations all year long including a strawberry pretzel sundae, holiday specials, and nachos, which include round waffle cones made into small circles for scooping custard and topping. Service has always been kind and efficient even with long lines and patience during the ordering process. There is a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card, so cash is best here. There is only outside seating, so can be a bit challenging in the winter weather if you are a messy eater. When sitting outside they play lots of fund tunes from the 50’s that you’ve heard at weddings and others, which makes for a fun throwback experience. Further, the owners are very active in the community and constantly doing fundraising and supporting other local businesses whether through custard sales or just general support. It is awesome to have a place with delicious custard and that is such a strong support of community.
